Fire prevention is one of SFD’s most important functions. We provide a number of services to help ensure that fires never start.
At best, fires cause costly damage to property; at worst, they can claim lives. SFD works hard to implement fire prevention measures.
Fire Code Enforcement. SFD is responsible for enforcing codes and standards that apply to buildings, open burning, blasting, materials storage and handling, the use of flammable and combustible products, and other activities. [Learn more]
Plan Development & Review. SFD is charged with implementing a permitting and review process to ensure that plans and fire system for new construction meet SFD’s adopted fire code. [Learn more]
ISO Rating. As in other communities, Sedona properties are subject to an ISO rating. This program provides an objective, countrywide standard that helps SFD plan and budget for facilities, equipment, and training. [Learn more]
